Samsung Wallet will now allow and support cards from the global financial company, Wise, in Malaysia. With that, Samsung smartphone owners in the country can now make contactless payments with Samsung Pay.
Samsung Pay is part of the brand’s self-named Wallet, and prior to adding Wise to its list, it supported cards from Alliance Bank, Bank Islam, Bank Muamalat, CIMB Bank, Hong Leong Bank, HSBC, Maybank, Public Bank, Standard Chartered, and RHB Bank. The latter bank being perhaps a tad finicky, as this writer can personally attest.

Just to be clear, Wise and its cards are supported by Samsung Wallet and Pay, but prior to this, that support was limited to users based in the US, UK, the EU, and several other countries. As of now, Wise cards issued in Japan, New Zealand, and the Philippines are reportedly still unsupported by the Korean tech brand’s digital wallet.
Do note that the support on Samsung Wallet includes both the physical and virtual cards. For that matter, registering the card is the same as before: simply tap the “+” at the top of the wallet, either take a picture of your card or enter the details manually, verify the registration via the wallet’s app, and you’re in.
