It is undeniable that the iPhone Air has left quite the impression when it made its debut in September. Following its launch, there have been reports of Apple slashing production of the device, suggesting that the model would have a very short lifespan. However, it seems that the ultra thin phone might get at least one successor, if a recent leak is to be believed.
According to serial leakster Digital Chat Station, the next generation will retain the same display as the current model. For reference, the existing iPhone Air sports a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR panel with Face ID. So, as far as looks go, the yet-to-be-named iPhone Air successor may not be all that different. That is, when viewed from the front.

The back of the phone might be a different story. The leakster claimed that a 48MP ultrawide lens will be joining the main camera. As previously covered, Apple made a few compromises in terms of features to achieve the Air’s supermodel slim build. The single 48MP camera is one such tradeoff, which has been a point of contention.
Adding salt to the wound is the fact that competing models feature at least two cameras, like Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge and the nubia Air. Then there is the recently unveiled Huawei Mate 70 Air with its quad-camera setup. So, the addition of another camera could be a much welcomed upgrade, if it happens.
Of course, the veracity of this information remains in question, as it did not come from an official source. Even then, we still have a while before Apple unveils the next generation of iPhones, so things may still change.
