Huawei has officially launched the Mate 70 Air in China, almost a full year after the original series debuted there. Though it is launching alone, the company is offering four different configurations to choose from.

Right off the bat, the Mate 70 Air is sporting a 7-inch 1.5K+ OLED display with 2,760 x 1,320px resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 4,000 nits, and an 18.8:9 aspect ratio. As for its body, the device measures in at 6.6mm thin, which is just shy of the iPhone Air’s record of 5.6mm. But the Huawei device does feature an IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Under the hood, Huawei offers two different chipset choices based on the RAM. Customers can choose between the Kirin 9020B chipset for the 12GB RAM variants or the Kirin 9020A for the 16GB RAM variants. Both variants can support up to 512GB of storage. The device runs on a 6,500mAh battery that supports 66W wired fast charging. The phone also comes with HarmonyOS 5.1 out of the box.

Camera-wise, the Huawei Mate 70 Air has a quad-camera arrangement, featuring a 50MP 1/1.3-inch main shooter. Alongside it are an 8MP ultra-wide, a 12MP telephoto, and a 1.5MP red maple multispectral sensor for colour accuracy. On the flip side, The punch-hole cutout houses a 10.7MP selfie camera.

The Huawei Mate 70 Air starts from CNY4,199 (~RM2,466) and is available in black, white, and silver colourways. Unfortunately, Huawei has yet to announce the international availability of the thin device. That said, do note that these details and specifications are based on the Chinese release of the smartphone and may be subject to change if it launches internationally.
