More than a year after its introduction, Meta is now rolling out its AI chatbot (via its dedicated website) to Malaysian users. Soon, they will be able to also access the feature through the company’s various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

For the uninitiated, Meta AI works like any other chatbot dominating the space. What sets it apart, however, is its integration in Meta-related apps, allowing users to interact with the AI by simply tapping the feature’s icon or by typing “@Meta AI”. It also has generative AI capabilities (powered by Llama 4), allowing it to create videos, images, and stickers from text prompts.

According to WISER.MY, the feature is now available on Facebook and Instagram. The publication also noted that Meta is still limiting the feature to a certain number of WhatsApp users, and the company has not yet made it available on Messenger. Unfortunately, in our testing, it seems none of us at Lowyat.net have access to the app integration just yet.

We reached out to a Meta spokesperson and confirmed that the company is gradually rolling out the feature to Malaysian users. It’s also worth mentioning that you can now download the Meta AI standalone app, but its functionality is limited, and it currently works only with the Meta smart glasses. So, at best, all the app can do is recommend that you buy its AI eyewear.

If you’d like to interact with the AI now, however, you can do so through the official Meta AI website.
