Last month, vivo unveiled the X300 series in China. At the moment, the flagship lineup comprises two models: a base model and a Pro variant. As with the previous generation, the company will be launching the top-of-the-line Ultra version at a later date. However, it seems that the vivo X300 Ultra may also be making a debut outside of its home market.
According to a recent report, the phone was spotted in the GSMA IMEI database with the model number V2562. This is a curious development, as vivo uses different naming schemes for its Chinese and global models. In this case, the model number does not line up with how the brand names the versions meant for China. So, this may indicate that the brand is working to release the X300 Ultra globally.

Just like its siblings, the X300 Ultra focuses on camera performance. A previous leak suggested that the handset will pack two 200MP cameras, which is a first for a smartphone. Aside from the 200MP main and periscope telephoto lenses, the handset will reportedly feature a 50MP ultra-wide snapper, and a 50MP selfie shooter.
Of course, with just a tiny sliver of information available, it’s hard to say whether an international version of the phone will become a reality. Even then, it’s still uncertain whether it will find its way to our shores specifically. So, a healthy dose of scepticism is certainly warranted.
