PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) and CIMB Bank Berhad (CIMB) have once again joined forces to launch the new CIMB PETRONAS Visa Debit Card. This latest addition expands the bank’s petrol card line-up, complementing the existing CIMB PETRONAS Visa Credit Card.

The debit card is designed to help customers save through cashback on fuel and car-related expenses. According to CIMB, customers who hold both the Visa Debit and Credit Cards are able to enjoy petrol cashback of approximately RM2,000 per annum.

To be eligible for the CIMB PETRONAS Visa Debit Card, customers must maintain a minimum monthly balance of RM1,000 in a CIMB Current, Savings, Investment, or Account-i. The card offers attractive benefits, including 10% cashback on transactions made via Setel and Café Mesra, as well as at selected EV charging stations.

Cardholders can also enjoy cashback on motor insurance purchases with Berjaya Sompo and Takaful IKHLAS, as well as at in-store car wash services that accept debit card payments. The cashback is capped at RM30 per month or RM360 per year for PETRONAS-based transactions, RM50 per year for motor insurance, and RM10 per month or RM120 per year for car wash services.

“Fuel is one of the largest segments of consumer spending in Malaysia, yet many payments at petrol stations are still made in cash,” added Visa Malaysia Country Manager, Previn Pillay. “The new CIMB PETRONAS Visa Debit Card, together with the Credit Card, presents a significant opportunity to digitise these transactions — enabling seamless, secure, and quick payments for motorists, backed by the trust and convenience of Visa’s global network.”
