If you’ve kept up with Samsung’s foldable lineup, you should know that the highly experimental tri-fold smartphone is expected to launch later this month. For a time, many believed that the device would only see a limited release in China and South Korea. However, it has just been confirmed that the tri-fold will be launching in other countries as well.

According to SamMobile, the upcoming device, tentatively named the Galaxy Z TriFold, will be launching in the UAE. It could also see a release in the US, but that has yet to be confirmed.

As a refresher, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is rumoured to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, with up to 16GB of RAM and a minimum of 256GB of storage. The device will reportedly run on One UI 8 software and will allegedly receive seven major Android OS updates.

Moving on, it is said it will have a 6.5-inch cover display and a 10-inch OLED screen that can be folded into three sections. A recent patent revealed that the device could have a triple battery arrangement, one in each of the segments. We don’t know the batteries’ capacity, but it was reported that it will come with wireless charging functionality.

Camera-wise, it is said to feature a 200MP primary main shooter, an ultrawide, and a telephoto camera with up to 100x digital zoom. At the time of writing, a lot more information regarding the camera setup is still unknown.

Circling back to the launch, SamMobile did not mention any other specific markets besides the US and the UAE. However, there is still hope, as the device could make its way to other countries. Unfortunately, whether or not Malaysia is included in those countries remains to be seen.
