Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM), in collaboration with DC Handal, a local charging point operator (CPO), has launched a new electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at Bamboo Hills. According to the automaker, this initiative strengthens its nationwide charging infrastructure while supporting Malaysia’s transition towards sustainable mobility.
Furthermore, the EV charging hub in Bamboo Hills was developed with MBM’s key retail partner, Hap Seng Star. This marks the sixth charging location in the country after already establishing charging hubs with leading operators including JomCharge, ChargeEV, Gentari, and P.UP.

The EV charging hub houses two charging bays and according to a company rep, it is equipped with the automaker’s 22 kW AC chargers, with the cost being 90 sen per kWh. As is customary for DC Handal, payments can be made either via a physical credit card terminal or through the JomCharge, ChargeEV, and Gentari Go apps.
According to MBM, the Bamboo Hills hub is part of the brand’s larger plan to make charging easier and more convenient for its electric vehicle owners. By expanding in this way, the company aims to make driving and owning an electric car simple and worry-free, ensuring that drivers can charge their vehicles anytime and anywhere while enjoying a smooth and connected ownership experience.

MBM also added that it plans to establish more EV charging locations nationwide by the end of 2025. This move is to ensure that its customers have the freedom to choose electrified mobility that best suits their lifestyles. Additionally, with eleven battery electric vehicles already introduced locally, including the new Mercedes-Benz G 580 with EQ Technology, the move to expand its EV facilities network works in favour of both the brand and its customers.
