The Kajang–Seremban Expressway (LEKAS) will be temporarily closed due to the RHB LEKAS Highway Ride 2025 cycling event happening the weekend of 11 and 12 October. As per the highway concessionaire, the closure is intended to ensure a safe route for participants throughout the night cycling event. The closure will begin at 5PM on Saturday and will end at 4AM on Sunday.
Wan Salwani, LEKAS Chief Executive Officer, stated that the necessary approvals have been obtained from the Ministry of Works (KKR), the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), and the Malaysian Sports Commissioner’s Office. In addition, the Royal Malaysia Police and traffic police have also been notified of the planned closure.
She added that approximately nine interchanges involving 20 entry and exit lanes along the highway will be closed during the event to ensure smooth and safe travel for all participants. The closure will cover the stretch from the Kajang Selatan Interchange to the Paroi Interchange.
LEKAS has also provided alternative routes for road users during the closure, in which motorists travelling from the north and south — including from Kuala Lumpur, Cheras, Kajang, Seremban, Senawang, and Kuala Pilah — are advised to use Federal Route 1 or the North–South Expressway (PLUS) to continue their journeys. Other alternative routes include the SILK Expressway for those who are travelling to Puchong, Shah Alam, Sungai Besi, and Sungai Long.

Road users are advised to follow all traffic safety instructions and plan their journeys in advance. Meanwhile, LEKAS has apologised for any inconvenience caused due to the temporary closure.
