Mattel is known for making diecast Hot Wheels models of actual cars, such as the Proton Saga in Malaysia. In collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, the company has recently unveiled a unique Hot Wheels Mercedes-Benz CLA art piece. However, this ‘art piece’ is a life-size creation from Mattel, based on the new CLA, and is the latest addition to the Class of Creators series. It has also been given a splash of Hot Wheels magic in terms of the car’s design.
The CLA stands out with its striking shades of black, pink and blue. The model also features solid, moulded “windows”, imitation shutlines, and glossy wheels. True to the Hot Wheels tradition of over-the-top design, this CLA embraces a dramatic DTM-inspired widebody kit. The flared arches, aerodynamic fins and enormous rear wing and diffuser give it an aggressive look.

Completing this eye-catching creation are a set of orange turbofan-style wheels with silver centres, cleverly designed to resemble the axle tips of a classic Hot Wheels car. The whole design blends the iconic Mercedes luxury with flamboyant toy car elements. According to Mattel, the interplay in the design is a tribute to the boundless imagination of childhood.
Furthermore, the model was also created as a tribute to the passion of many enthusiasts and collectors towards Hot Wheels 1:64-scale diecast cars. Thus, this new CLA model will also be turned into a Hot Wheels diecast car that will go on sale in spring 2026.

On that note, the new CLA with EQ technology comes in two variants: the 250+ and the 350 4MATIC. The CLA 250+ comes with a rear-mounted permanently excited synchronous motor (PSM) that produces 272 PS and 335 Nm of torque, while the CLA 350 comes with an additional motor in the front, producing a total output of 354 PS and 515 Nm of torque.

As of now, it is confirmed that the new CLA with EQ technology will make its debut in the local market. However, it is uncertain which variant will be available in the Malaysian market.
