This weekend, several major roads in Kuala Lumpur will be closed in conjunction with the KL Standard Chartered Marathon 2025 (KLSCM). A total of 29 roads will be closed on Saturday for the 10KM and 5KM categories, while 13 roads will be closed on Sunday to accommodate the half marathon and full marathon events.
These roads will serve as official routes for the marathon. On Saturday, closures will take place between 3am and 11am, while Jalan Raja Laut will be closed earlier, starting from 10pm today (3 October). On Sunday, 13 roads will be closed from 5am to 10pm.

Some of the roads that will be closed include Jalan Raja Dataran Merdeka, Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Dang Wangi, Jalan Ampang towards the city centre, Jalan P. Ramlee and Jalan Kuching towards Bulatan Dato Onn. The Akleh and Duke Expressway will also face closures during this time.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said the KLSCM 2025 is expected to attract about 40,000 participants, including 3,300 international runners, across the city centre. He also added that the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2025 bicycle race, which begins in Tangkak, Johor, will conclude its final stage in front of KLCC, Jalan Ampang, on 5 October at around 3pm.

“In this regard, several roads around KLCC, including Jalan Ampang, Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, and Jalan P. Ramlee, will be temporarily closed from 2pm until the race is completed,” he added. Thus, he also advised road users to plan their journeys in advance and cooperate fully to ensure smooth traffic flow throughout both events.
