Just weeks after launching the CX-80 PHEV in Malaysia, Mazda has quietly reduced the price of the SUV. Upon checking Mazda Malaysia’s official website, what was initially priced at RM331,610 now starts from RM295,000, making the plug-in hybrid almost RM37,000 cheaper.
Other than the price, the specifications of the CX-80 appear unchanged. To recap, the SUV offers Mazda’s signature L-shaped LED headlights paired with slim LED DRLs in the front fascia. Meanwhile, the rear features a sleek horizontal LED taillight paired with a roof spoiler.

Inside, the cabin houses a 12.3-inch digital multi-information instrument cluster and an Active Driving Display (Head-Up Display). At the centre is a 12.3-inch infotainment display that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. As a six-seater SUV, the second row features captain’s seats, while the cabin is finished in rich and refined textures. Enhancing the interior further are a panoramic roof and a Bose sound system.
At the core of the CX-80 is the company’s Skyactiv Multi-Solution Scalable Architecture, which combines a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with an electric motor. Together, the PHEV powertrain produces 323 hp and 500 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 195 km/h. The motor is powered by a 17.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering a NEDC range of 65 km.

Furthermore, the SUV is fitted with Mazda’s i-ACTIV AWD system, designed to optimise the driving experience. According to the automaker, the system continuously monitors road conditions and adjusts torque distribution to enhance grip and stability.
The CX-80 also comes with a comprehensive suite of safety features, combining standard equipment with Mazda’s i-Activsense technologies. These include Adaptive LED Headlamps (ALH), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Lane Keep Assist System (LAS) with Road Keep Assist (RKA), among others.
Moreover, since the specifications are unchanged, there is a good chance that the warranty remains the same as well. The warranty includes a free maintenance programme covering labour, parts and lubricants for five years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first. In addition, the battery is covered by an eight-year/160,000 km warranty.
