Xiaomi has finally unveiled its new Xiaomi 15T series here in Malaysia. As the naming convention suggests, this entry serves as the follow-up to the previous year’s 14T Series. And much like the previous generation, the Xiaomi 15T series consists of two models, the base and the Pro variant.

Compared to its predecessor, the handset series features a larger display and an even larger battery. However, when compared to each other, don’t let the additional “Pro” monitor fool you—both smartphones are very similar to one another, barring a few key differences.

Xiaomi 15T specs

With that said, let’s first start with the Xiaomi 15T Pro. The smartphone features a 6.87-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 1,280 x 2,772 pixel resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. It also has HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support alongside Dolby Atmos for the stereo speakers, IP68 dust and water resistances, and Gorilla Glass 7i.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Dimensity 9400+ chipset and comes with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. Powering the Xiaomi 15T Pro is a 5,500mAh battery that is capable of 90W HyperCharge and 50W wireless HyperCharge. Software-wise, it will be the first Xiaomi phone to have the new HyperOS 3. As for connectivity, the Pro will feature Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and NFC, as well as the new offline communication that allows you to communicate up to 1.9km without any connection.

Moving on to the most advertised feature of the phone series, the camera. The Xiaomi 15T Pro is rocking the Light Fusion 900 50MP main shooter, a 50MP telephoto lens that is capable of 5x telephoto zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. It also has the Leica Summilux Optical Lens. All three rear cameras are capable of recording HDR10+ video (4K at 30fps). The main camera specifically can record up to 8K at 30fps and 4k at 60fps. It also has a 32MP selfie camera hidden within a punch-hole cutout.

As mentioned earlier, barring the exterior, the base and Pro variants are almost identical with one another, to the point it is easier to mention what sets these two apart. In that spirit, the key difference lies internally, where the base model features the Dimensity 8400-Ultra, and still has the same 5,500mAh battery but can only support 67W HyperCharge. Unlike the Pro, the base can only go up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. In terms of camera, the base shares a similar camera array as the Pro but only has a Light Fusion 800 sensor. Furthermore, it also does not have the Leica 5x Pro telephoto zoom.

Xiaomi 15T Pro Prices

The standard variant of the Xiaomi 15T is priced at RM1,899 for the 12GB + 256GB configuration, and RM2,199 for the 12GB + 512GB variant. The Xiaomi 15T Pro, on the other hand, is priced at RM2,699 for the 12GB + 256GB, RM2,999 for the 12GB + 512GB, and RM3,499 for the 12GB + 1TB variants. The base is available in Rose Gold, Grey, and Black, while the Pro is available in Mocha Gold, Grey, and Black.
