Though the iPhone 17 series had just hit the shelves only recently, new reports corroborate a prior claim that Apple’s foldable device is set to launch next year. The report came from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who also shared additional details about the device’s form, potential pricing, release window, and more.

Starting with the foldable’s form factor, the Bloomberg writer asked the readers that they “should imagine two titanium iPhone Airs stuck side-by-side”. Gurman further stated that the Apple handset is going to be “super thin and a design achievement”, which does make sense given the device’s 5.6mm body. Furthermore, according to 9to5Mac, this supports earlier rumours that the iPhone Air was intended to serve as the foundation for a future foldable iPhone.

Furthermore, despite recent reports that Apple has started producing the foldable in India, Gurman has heard reports that the tech giant will be producing this model with Foxconn in China. Regardless of production location, the device will reportedly be quite expensive, with the Bloomberg writer expecting it to command at least a US$2,000 (~RM8,422) price tag.

Lastly, the rumoured foldable device might be revealed alongside the iPhone 18 sometime in the usual September keynote. Nonetheless, according to 9to5Mac, the Apple foldable could launch sometime in October or November. It is worth noting that these details are still rumours and should be taken with a bit of scepticism. Conversely, Gurman does have a good track record when it comes to keeping tabs on the tech giant.
