In this day and age, it’s hard to keep a secret when it comes to upcoming products. Not too long after the DJI Osmo Nano was revealed in a leak, some details on another of the brand’s cameras have been spilled. This time, we’re looking at the DJI Action 6, courtesy of some tester images and reports.
Based on the leak, it seems that the successor to the Action 5 Pro will be able to pair with the Apple Watch and Garmin smartwatches. Once paired, the device can apparently be used as a remote control for the camera. Aside from starting and stopping recording, the user will allegedly be able to swap to different modes without touching the camera.
Additionally, data overlay will be available, including GPS, as well as heart rate and blood oxygen. For both Apple and Garmin products, data sync options comprise speed, distance, altitude, and trajectory. That said, certain Garmin wearables like the Forerunner series will include extra information like power or cadence, pace, as well as dive data.
As for the camera’s specifications, the Action 6 is said to feature a 1-inch CMOS sensor with over 13.5 stops of dynamic range. The camera will reportedly be able to record videos in 8K at 30fps, 5.3K at 60fps, 4K at 120fps, and 1080p at 240fps. Stabilisation features include RockSteady 4.0 with AI-powered HorizonSteady.
Moreover, the camera will allegedly come with up to 64GB of built-in storage, which can be expanded via microSD. For connectivity, it will apparently support Bluetooth 5.1, WiFi 6, and USB-C with potential support for DisplayPort. Its 1,950mAh battery is said to offer more than four hours of 4K recording.
Design-wise, the camera will sport a bulkier design to accommodate the larger sensor. Additionally, the leak claims that the camera will be waterproof up to 18 to 20m without a case. Pricing is expected to range from US$329 (~RM1,385) to US$429 (~RM1,806) for the Standard Combo. Meanwhile, the Adventure Combo is said to be priced between US$479 (~RM2,016) and US$579 (~RM2,437).
As usual, these leaks are to be taken with a grain of salt, as they did not originate from an official source. We can only verify the veracity of this information once the DJI Action 6 is launched.
