Sony has officially announced the Xperia 10 VII, its newest mid-range smartphone. If you’ve been keeping up with the leaks, then the device’s redesigned camera layout should come as no surprise. Rather than a vertical arrangement, the sensors are now positioned horizontally, not unlike Google’s Pixel series and the newly launched iPhone Air.
The successor to the Xperia 10 VI sports a 6.1-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 1,080 x 2,340 resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The screen is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Other than that, the phone features a new dedicated shutter button that also allows for easy access to the camera.

As for internals, it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A microSD card allows the storage to be expanded to a maximum of 2TB. Powering the phone is a 5,000mAh battery. For software, it runs Android 16, with Sony promising four OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
Of course, the changes to the camera system are not only in terms of aesthetics. The Xperia 10 VII features a 50MP Sony Exmor RS main sensor, as well as a 13MP ultra-wide lens. Meanwhile, the front is equipped with an 8MP selfie snapper.

The phone’s other features include dual front facing speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, as well as an IP65/68 rating. The device comes in three colourways: Charcoal Black, White, and Turquoise. Pricing is set at EUR449 (~RM2,213), or GBP399 (~RM2,277). However, at the time of writing, Sony has yet to reveal its price for the local market.
