It goes without saying that one of the key highlights of the recently released Google Pixel 10 series was the new Pixelsnap accessories. These MagSafe-styled attachments were set to give the phones made by the internet search giant a similar style of magnetic modularity, and subsequently to push Pixel 10 adoption further.
However, it has not been a full month since the collective range’s debut, and people are already noticing a significant flaw in the Ring Stand accessory. Some even reported that the stand broke down after just two days of use and that it is, alarmingly, coming undone all on its own.

A user from Reddit claims that their Ring Stand felt a “little wobbly” after the first week of owning the product with “no more than 100 folds”. The reason is that the screws that held the accessory together are simply working themselves loose.
The Redditor continues saying that screws were still bound to the powerful magnet of the accessory and, instead, scratched up their Pixel 10 case along the magnet’s path. It goes without saying that these screws are paramount to adding tension to the stand; otherwise, it would be a flimsy ring. In the same thread, another Reddit user has addressed the issue by using a T2 Torx bit, while others have simply resigned and returned the Google accessory altogether.

However, it seems that’s not the only issue with the Ring Stand, as another report claims that the attachment can get hot enough to burn skin when used in conjunction with Google’s own Pixel Stand (2nd gen), as per a complainant on Google support. Admittedly, metal, being a good conductor of heat, would naturally reach high temperatures when exposed to a constant stream of electricity. However, according to Android Police, many were unaware of the incompatibility and assumed that it would work together fine, as both are first-party products.
At the time of writing, Google has not issued an official statement, let alone an official recall. Furthermore, it is unsure if this issue will also apply to the Malaysian market yet, but potential buyers be advised.
