PayNet CEO Farhan Ahmad To Step Down From Role By Late January 2026

Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) announced today that its Group Chief Executive Officer, Farhan Ahmad, will step down from his role effective 31 January 2026. The company has appointed Praveen Rajan as CEO-Designate, beginning 1 December 2025.

Farhan has led PayNet since early 2022, overseeing a period of growth and organisational transformation. During his tenure, the company advanced Malaysia’s payments infrastructure, fulfilling its mandate as the national payments network operator. In a statement, Farhan described his time at PayNet as an honour and expressed confidence in the company’s future success as he moves on to pursue other opportunities.

The CEO-Designate, Praveen, currently serves as Chief Consumer Business Officer at CelcomDigi Berhad and brings more than 20 years of experience in mobile telecommunications and digital industries. His expertise spans regulated, technology-driven transformations, consumer strategy, and innovation.

PayNet stated that the leadership transition will be carefully managed over the coming months, with its leadership team continuing to execute the company’s strategic roadmap to ensure stability and continuity. Dato’ Izzaddin Idris, Chairman of PayNet, thanked Farhan for his leadership and contributions, noting that Praveen’s background in digital transformation and customer-focused growth will support the company’s next phase of development.
