Chery’s sub-brand iCAUR launched its first model, the iCAUR 03, in Malaysia. First previewed during the Malaysian Auto Show (MAS 2025), the new vehicle is an electric off-road SUV, which is available in two powertrain configurations: a two-wheel drive (2WD) setup and a four-wheel drive setup named Intelligent Wheel Drive (iWD).
The iCAUR 03 showcases a bold, boxy design underpinned by a reinforced all-aluminium multi-cage body structure with integrated battery armour for enhanced safety. The front fascia features a full-width blacked-out light bar that is complemented by distinctive i-shaped LED daytime running lights and slim LED headlights.
This signature “i” motif is echoed at the rear taillights, which are integrated with a tailgate storage box. Other design touches include automatic rain-sensing wipers, a panoramic sunroof with sunshade, and functional roof rails.
Inside, the iCAUR 03 is equipped with a 9.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The cabin features faux leather upholstery, with powered and ventilated seats available for both front and rear passengers. A squared, flat-bottom steering wheel with the signature i-badge at its centre adds a distinctive touch.
The iWD variant offers further enhancements, including a multifunction steering wheel wrapped in faux leather, a premium 12-speaker Infinity sound system (compared to the 8-speaker setup in the 2WD), and an Intelligent Voice Assistant accessible from both the front and rear seats.
At the heart of the iCAUR 03’s performance is a compact 6-in-1 electric drive module, seamlessly integrating the Motor Control Unit, Onboard Charger, and Converter to deliver smooth, responsive power and precise control. The 2WD variant features a rear-mounted motor producing 135 kW (184 PS) and 220 Nm of torque, enabling a top speed of 150 km/h and a 0–100 km/h time of 10.5 seconds.
For those seeking more punch, the iWD variant is equipped with dual motors at the front and rear, generating a combined 205 kW (279 PS) and 385 Nm. Despite sharing the same 150 km/h top speed, it sprints from 0–100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds. The iCAUR 03 also offers 10 different all-terrain driving modes paired with a rigid H-arm multilink rear suspension.
Powering the 2WD is a 65.7 kWh LFP battery, providing an NEDC-rated range of 426 km. Meanwhile, the iWD variant features a 69.8 kWh battery with up to 418 km of NEDC driving range. For charging, the iCAUR 03 supports 80 kW DC fast charging and 6.6 kW AC charging. It also features a 3.2 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) system, allowing customers to power electronic devices and appliances directly from the car.
In terms of safety, the SUV has six airbags and the ADAS Level 2 advanced driver assistance package, offered as standard. The ADAS features include Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Drive Away Info (DAI), Front Collision Warning (FCW), Rear Collision Warning (RCW), Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), and many more.
The iCAUR 03 is priced at RM119,800 for the 2WD variant and RM129,800 for the iWD. It is backed by a 7-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/160,000 km battery and drive unit warranty, ensuring long-term peace of mind.
As part of an exclusive Early Bird Package for bookings made by 17 September 2025, customers receive one year of unlimited charging via the JomCharge network (including authorised roaming partners), complete with Auto Charge functionality. In addition, iCAUR Malaysia offers a battery replacement guarantee, promising a one-to-one replacement if the battery’s State of Health falls below 70%.
