Mazda Malaysia has officially launched the six-seater Mazda CX-80 PHEV for the local market. The SUV was first unveiled in Europe in April 2024 and made its Malaysian debut at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2024. For Malaysia, the CX-80 is offered in a single variant – the Skyactiv-G 2.5L PHEV AWD High Plus – while European markets receive two variant options.
In terms of design, the CX-80 features Mazda’s signature L-shaped LED headlights paired with slim LED daytime running lights, giving it a sharp and distinctive front profile. The bold look is further accentuated by a large, imposing grille. At the rear, the SUV sports sleek horizontally oriented LED taillights that extend from the fenders towards the centre of the tailgate, complemented by a roof spoiler that integrates seamlessly with the overall design.
Inside, the SUV is configured as a six-seater, with the second row fitted with individual captain’s chairs separated by a full-length centre console, while the third row offers a generously sized two-person bench. The cabin is crafted with rich materials, refined textures, and enhanced by ambient lighting, creating a premium and inviting atmosphere.
On the technology front, the SUV is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital multi-information instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch central infotainment display, and an Active Driving Display (Head-Up Display). The infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for seamless connectivity.
Further elevating the interior experience are a panoramic roof and a premium 12-speaker Bose sound system, delivering both openness and immersive audio quality. Other features include a 360-degree exterior camera, four USB ports, and a 12-volt socket.
Turning to the powertrain, the CX-80 is built on Mazda’s Skyactiv Multi-Solution Scalable Architecture. Under the bonnet, it features a 2.5L four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor. Together, the PHEV powertrain produces 323 hp and 500 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 195 km/h. The motor is powered by a 17.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering a NEDC range of 65 km.

The CX-80 is equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features, combining standard equipment with Mazda’s i-Activsense. This includes Adaptive LED Headlamps (ALH), Blind-Spot Monitoring (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Lane-Keep Assist System (LAS) with Road Keep Assist (RKA) and more.
As for pricing, the Mazda CX-80 is priced at RM331,610 (on-the-road without insurance in Peninsular Malaysia). This premium SUV is now open for booking at all authorised Mazda dealerships nationwide.
