Hasselblad has officially unveiled the X2D II 100C, the successor to its first 100MP medium-format mirrorless camera. While the new model retains the same resolution as its predecessor, it introduces a series of major upgrades that address key shortcomings while pushing image quality and handling further.
X2D II 100C packs an updated 100MP backside-illuminated CMOS sensor capable of delivering 16-bit RAW images and up to 15.3 stops of dynamic range. Hasselblad has also introduced full end-to-end HDR support for the first time in one of its digital cameras. This feature is designed to preserve highlights, improve tonal depth, and reduce overexposure, with images viewable directly on the display in HDR HEIF or Ultra HDR JPEG formats.

Autofocus now features a new hybrid system featuring 425 phase-detection points, backed by AI algorithms and LiDAR assistance. Another significant addition is continuous autofocus (AF-C), which finally allows users to track moving subjects. While burst shooting is limited to 3 fps, Hasselblad promises faster and more accurate focusing, particularly in low-light conditions.
Additionally, the five-axis in-body image stabilisation (IBIS) now delivers up to 10 stops of shake reduction, compared to the 7 stops of the previous model. Hasselblad says this allows for hand-held long exposures lasting several seconds without requiring a tripod.
Design-wise, the X2D II 100C’s remains mostly familiar, with a body milled from a single block of aluminium, but is now around 7.5% lighter at approximately 730g (without a lens). The grip has been redesigned with a textured finish for improved handling. On the back, a new 3.6-inch tilting OLED display with 1,400 nits peak brightness, while the addition of a 5D joystick provides faster menu navigation and focus control.
Powering the camera is a 3,400 mAh battery rated for up to 327 images in RAW+HDR mode or 466 without HDR. As with its predecessor, the X2D II 100C comes with 1TB of built-in SSD storage, alongside a CFexpress Type B slot for expansion. On the connectivity side, Hasselblad has rolled out the Phocus Mobile 2 app, enabling remote shooting, file transfers, and basic editing from mobile devices.

Alongside the camera, Hasselblad also announced the XCD 2.8-4 35-100E lens, equivalent to 28-76mm on a full-frame system. It features a fast stepping motor, integrated control rings for shutter speed and aperture, and the brand’s signature leaf shutter design that supports flash sync speeds up to 1/4000s.
The Hasselblad X2D II 100C is available now in select markets, though it has not been officially confirmed for Malaysia. Despite this, local retailer YL Camera has already listed the camera on its online store at RM36,000 for body only, while XCD 2.8-4 35-100E lens is priced at RM21,200.
