Insta360 has officially launched the GO Ultra, the latest entry in its compact camera lineup. According to the company, this particular model introduces a new premium tier to the series rather than serving as a direct replacement for the GO 3S.
Much like what was leaked prior to this, it is shown to sport an all-new square form factor instead of the familiar pill shape design of existing GO models. Measuring 1.8 inches per side and weighing 53 grams, it is slightly larger and heavier than the GO 3S but still smaller than competing models such as the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro or Insta360’s own Ace Pro 2. While the new body shape accommodates a bigger 500mAh battery, it may make orientation cues less intuitive compared to the older design. Colour options include White and Black.

The Insta360 GO Ultra is powered by a 5nm AI chip, a notable upgrade over the 14nm chip used in the GO 3S. The camera also boasts a 1/1.28-inch sensor that’s double the size of its predecessor, which works in tandem with an ambient light sensor to deliver clearer and brighter footage, especially in low-light conditions. The hardware bump enables 4K video recording at up to 60 frames per second, twice the frame rate of the previous model, with options for Active HDR at 30 fps and slow-motion recording at 1080p/240 fps. Insta360’s PureVideo mode, which relies on AI to reduce noise and boost brightness, further enhances low-light captures.
Battery life has seen a major boost, with the GO Ultra capable of recording for up to 70 minutes on a single charge, which is an improvement of more than 80 percent over the GO 3S. Pairing it with the included Action Pod, which adds a 2.5-inch flip touchscreen and extra power, extends recording times up to 200 minutes under specific settings. The Action Pod itself weighs an additional 109 grams, but greatly expands functionality and live monitoring.

Storage is now handled via a microSD card slot supporting up to 2TB of removable storage, replacing the fixed internal memory of earlier models. This change makes it easier to swap cards during longer shoots. Like its predecessor, the GO Ultra is waterproof up to 33 feet (IPX8-rated), making it suitable for underwater use and other rugged conditions.
To support hands-free shooting, Insta360 has refined its accessory ecosystem with an upgraded magnetic pendant for chest-level mounting, a toddler-friendly hat clip, and an improved clip system that allows the camera to attach to clothing or metallic surfaces. Separately sold are waterproof case and lens, ND filters, a screen protector, and sticky tabs for the camera unit.

In Malaysia the new Insta360 GO Ultra is priced at RM1,879 for the Standard Bundle (without memory card), which comes with basic accessories including the magnetic clip and necklace, safety strap and USB-C cable. The Creator Bundle, which comes with additional items such as a grip, stand, 64GB memory card and more, starts from RM2,149. Those interested can purchase them camera now via Insta360’s official online store on Shopee.

Meanwhile, the camera’s optional add-ons are also available locally. These include a Quick Release Wrist Strap (RM69), Dive Case (RM269), Aqua Lens (RM59), Sticky Tabs (RM69), ND Filter Set (RM269), and screen protector for the LCD screen (RM45).
