Prasarana-owned RapidKL has made an announcement that’s pretty out of left field. It has little to do with public transportation, but it is something that it hopes you will use while you’re on public transit. It’s called Rentak Rapid, which it calls a series of exclusive themed playlists on Spotify.
Or, to put it simply, it’s the company’s profile on Spotify, from which you can find said list of playlists. This is an initiative of Prasarana Integrated Development (PRIDE) Sdn Bhd, according to the press release the company sent.
Company CEO Syed Redza Algadrie says “we realise music is part of commuters’ routine and lifestyle while on RapidKL trains or busses. Inspired by this, we introduced Rentak Rapid., not just as additional entertainment, but also as a bridge connecting public transport with the world of digital entertainment”.
The company says that you can access Rentak Rapid from the MyRapid PULSE app. From here, you’ll see a button with the Spotify logo. Hitting this will take you to a specific National Day- themed playlist called Jiwa Merdeka: Irama RapidKL. Alternatively, you can search for the Rentak Rapid profile for yourself on the Spotify app. It doesn’t show up on the web client, for whatever reason.
