A few years back, HTC debuted its Vive series of VR headsets. Now, the brand is turning its attention to another type of wearable. The Vive Eagle is the company’s recently released pair of smart glasses, poised to rival Meta’s Ray-Bans. The glasses come with a camera, stereo speakers, and on-device AI capabilities.
According to HTC, the glasses feature a “refined aesthetic” with clean, minimalist lines that conceal the wearable’s powerful technology. The Vive Eagle sports a lightweight frame that weighs 49g, which is heavier than Meta’s Ray-Bans by one gram.

Aesthetics aside, the Vive Eagle features a 12MP ultra-wide camera that can capture images in 3,024×4,032 resolution. The cameras can also record videos at 30fps. The right frame houses an LED light to indicate when the glasses are recording.
Moreover, the glasses are equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. For connectivity, the Vive Eagle supports Bluetooth 5.3 and WiFi 6E.

Naturally, no AI-powered wearable is complete without an AI assistant. HTC has integrated its Vive AI, which supports Google Gemini and OpenAI’s GhatGPT. Wearers can use voice commands to perform functions like record reminders, take notes, and get restaurant recommendations. The glasses also come with a real-time translation feature that supports 13 languages.
As for battery life, HTC claims that the wearable’s 235mAh battery can offer up to 4.5 hours of continuous music playback, or 36 hours of standby time. Furthermore, the glasses reportedly take only ten minutes to charge from empty to 50%.

The Vive Eagle is available in four colourways, which are Black, Berry, Coffee, and Grey. HTC has opened pre-orders for the wearable in Taiwan, with each pair costing TWD15,600 (~RM2,192). At the time of writing, the brand has not disclosed any details on a global launch.
