GWM will be launching a facelifted Haval Raptor PHEV in the Chinese market on August 19. This facelifted version of the Haval Raptor comes with a different exterior and an updated PHEV powertrain.
In terms of the exterior, the changes have been inspired by the internal combustion variant (ICE), starting with switching the round headlights to square and boxy headlights. Moreover, the front grille is now smaller. At the rear, it still retains the vertical tail lights while the Haval wording has been replaced with GWM on the spare tyre.
Inside, the facelifted Haval is also inspired by the ICE variant, which comes with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch infotainment system. The connectivity of the SUV is powered by GWM’s Coffee OS 3 system. Other features include 50 W wireless charging, height-adjustable cupholders and a refrigerator in the centre console which supports cooling and heating.
In terms of the powertrain, it features the second-generation Hi4 plug-in hybrid terrain. This setup features a new 1.5 turbocharged engine with an output of 115 kW and 243 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with two motors, bringing the total power of the car to 330 kW and 750 Nm. The SUV completes the century sprint in 5.9 seconds.
At the moment, information such as the price and the SUV’s availability in the global market, including Malaysia, is yet to be revealed by the automaker. Nevertheless, there might be a chance for the pre-facelifted Haval Raptor PHEV to debut in Malaysia as it was recently previewed at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS).
