Xiaomi Malaysia has teased the imminent arrival of the Redmi 15 5G in the local market. As you’d expect from a teaser, the brand started drip-feeding details from the device’s spec sheet. At the time of writing, the company has shared three items from said spec sheet over the weekend.
The first one that was shared about the Redmi 15 5G is that it will have a 6.9-inch Full HD+ display, with a 144Hz refresh rate. But probably the highlight of the device is its 7,000 mAh, which Xiaomi says will last you two days. Rounding things out are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 and 8GB of RAM.
With the pairing of the chipset and battery capacity, the claim of two-day use makes sense. Though at the same time, this may be somewhat hampered by any app that taps into the full 144Hz refresh rate. Also, the company claims that the Redmi 15 5G has 16GB of RAM, but it’s important to note the fine print that says that’s after taking virtual RAM into account.
As mentioned earlier, Xiaomi Malaysia has not shared when the Redmi 15 5G will launch beyond the canned “coming soon”. No price either, naturally, but considering the price of the predecessor model, chances are it will remain under RM1,000.
