OpenAI is reportedly developing a more affordable subscription tier for ChatGPT, potentially called ChatGPT Go. This plan could appeal to users with lighter usage needs, supposedly providing them with only the essential features from the chatbot.
At present, ChatGPT is available via a free plan and two paid tiers: Plus at US$20 (~RM85) per month and Pro at US$200 (RM855). The Plus plan unlocks access to newer models and basic features, while the Pro plan caters to power users with near-unlimited usage and access to more advanced capabilities like Agents.
ChatGPT Go could allegedly be priced below the existing Plus plan, likely in the range of US$10 (~RM42) to US$15 (~RM64). It is believed that the plan is for casual users who want broader access to OpenAI’s models like o3, but can do without features like Agents or extended memory capabilities.

It is also speculated that the introduction of ChatGPT Go may coincide with the eventual rollout of GPT-5, allowing OpenAI to streamline its offerings and better segment access by use case. However, the lower-tier Go plan may come with stricter limitations on advanced features and usage caps to justify its lower cost.
