CD Projekt Red has announced that it is launching Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on Mac. Apple, on the other hand, says that the game – including its Phantom Liberty expansion – will be available on the Mac App Store starting 17 July.
For the Mac’s hardware requirements, Cyberpunk 2077 requires it to be at least running Apple silicon. Which means anything from the very first M1 to the current M4 chipsets. The caveat is that it will also need at least 16GB of RAM, which is certainly not as universal. Also needed is macOS 15.5 or later, which isn’t a problem for any M1 Mac hardware.

Cyberpunk 2077 is also getting a pretty nifty exclusive feature that’s really only feasible within the Apple walled garden. It’s called the “For this Mac” graphical preset, which has the game tweak itself to run its best on your specific Mac model. Another is Spatial Audio with head tracking when used with AirPods.
Late last year, CDPR announced that it will be porting Cyberpunk 2077 to Mac, but the initial timeline at the time was supposed to be “early next year”. Clearly things have not gone according to plan, but better late than never in this case. The game joins a short list of others on the Mac platform, which currently has a lot of Resident Evil.
