The Mercedes-Benz GLC powered by ‘EQ Technology’ is set to be unveiled during the IAA Mobility in Munich this coming September. This was announced by the CEO of Mercedes-Benz Group, Ola Källenius, in a YouTube video showcasing the GLC undergoing some tests.
Furthermore, certain information about the all-electric GLC was revealed in the video, starting with the design. Although the SUV was camouflaged, the front fascia features sleek, sharp and angular headlights with LED beams that seem to be designed in the shape of the iconic three-pointed star.

Moreover, Källenius mentioned that the front grille was inspired by the legendary 300 SEL. As for the interior, the only information that has been revealed by the automaker is that it will feature the floating MBUX Hyperscreen.
Also, according to the automaker, there is more legroom and headroom since the GLC EV has a wheelbase that is eight centimetres longer compared to its combustion sibling. As for boot capacity, it comes with 570 litres (1,740l with the seats folded down). And hey, since it is an EV, it also has a frunk of 128 litres.

As for the performance of the car, the GLC comes with the 4MATIC (all-wheel drive) system and a dual motor setup that is developed in-house. It produces 360kW and completes the century sprint in six seconds. Additionally, it has the AIRMATIC air suspension from the S-Class, which is paired with rear-axle steering with a 4.5-degree angle in each direction.
The GLC is also built on the new 800-volt electric architecture, and is powered by a 94.5 kWh NMC battery pack which, with a 320kW DC charger, can juice up the SUV to a range of 260km in just 10 minutes. Moreover, according to Källenius, it has a range of more than WLTP range of 650km.
The GLC also has the capability to tow up to 2.4 tonnes. This was demonstrated in the video, when the SUV towed the Mercedes 300 SEL. As for the price and other information about the car, these can be expected to be shared during the unveiling.
