Maybank has confirmed with us that its scheduled eight-hour maintenance will proceed as planned this Saturday, 12 July 2025. This confirmation comes despite an unannounced service disruption that occurred last Saturday, which left users unable to access certain features on the MAE app for several hours.
Reports of the issue surfaced on social media during the evening of 4 July 2025. In response to user complaints, Maybank acknowledged that some services on the app were temporarily unavailable, though it did not provide an explanation for the disruption. It advised customers to use the Maybank2u website as an alternative while the issue was being addressed.
The bank’s services were reportedly restored by 8am the following morning, but some users continued to face access issues. Maybank later advised affected customers to restart their devices or refresh the MAE app to resolve lingering problems.
While the bank has confirmed that this weekend’s planned maintenance will still take place, it did not respond to our query regarding the cause of last Saturday’s outage. Notably, the disruption occurred just a day after Maybank had announced the upcoming 12 July maintenance, leading some to speculate that it may have been carried out earlier than scheduled.
As stated in Maybank’s initial notice, the upcoming downtime will affect “selected services.” However, it remains unclear which services will be impacted. Customers are advised to complete any essential tasks or transactions before the maintenance window begins at 12am and ends at 8am this Saturday.
