Sony Malaysia has officially introduced three new additions to its 2025 BRAVIA smart TV lineup: the 98-inch BRAVIA 5, BRAVIA 8 II, and BRAVIA 2 II. All three models are now available for purchase in Malaysia through Sony’s official distributors.
The 98-inch BRAVIA 5 arrives as the largest variant from Sony’s Mini LED 4K UHD smart TV models, which also has 55-, 65-, 75- and 85-inch sizes. It incorporates XR Backlight Master Drive technology, which precisely manages lighting for improved contrast and brightness.
Designed to deliver a home cinema-scale experience, the BRAVIA 5 also supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, and runs on the Google TV platform. It includes four HDMI ports, two USB ports, and supports both Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
Next is the BRAVIA 8 II, which is available in 55- and 65-inch sizes, offering a 4K QD-OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by Sony’s Cognitive Processor XR, which analyses scenes for improved picture performance. XR Triluminos Max technology is also included, enabling more accurate and lifelike colours.
On the audio front, this model employs Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology, where sound is emitted directly from the screen to match on-screen content more naturally. Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos are supported here as well, rounding out the immersive experience.
Last but not least is the BRAVIA 2 II, which is positioned as a more affordable entry into the series. It features a standard LED panel with 4K UHD resolution, enhanced by 4K X-Reality PRO technology that sharpens lower-resolution content. Audio capabilities include support for Dolby Atmos and DTS, while Google TV provides access to a wide range of streaming platforms. This model is available in multiple sizes: 50, 55, 65, and 75 inches.
The flagship BRAVIA 5 with its 98-inch display is listed at RM29,999. In conjunction with its launch, those who purchase the TV are also entitled to receive a complimentary Sony BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9, Premium Wireless Subwoofer SA-SW5 and RM300 TnG credit, while stocks last. The BRAVIA 8 II is priced at RM12,499 for the 55-inch and RM16,999 for the 65-inch, whereas the BRAVIA 2 II is priced at RM3,099 for the 50-inch variant, RM3,499 for the 55-inch, RM4,399 for the 65-inch and RM5,999 for the 75-inch.
Additionally, you can check out all three new BRAVIA models as well as other Sony devices at the Sony Expo at Midvalley Megamall. The exhibition is located at the Centrecourt section of the mall, and is currently ongoing until 6 July 2025.
