Digital storage brand and WD subsidiary SanDisk has announced a range of new products made with content creators in mind. It is aptly named the Creator Series, which Includes SSDs, SD cards and USB-C flash drives. And to make sure you know they are all part of the same series, they all share a nice blue colour across the range.
The SanDisk Creator Series has seven products within the range, with one of them being the Phone SSD. As the name suggests, this is meant to be used with a smartphone, and to fit the description, it comes with a MagSafe ring at the back, and with an IP65 rating to go with it. Capacities go up to 2TB, with read and write speeds going up to 1,000 MB/s and 950 MB/s respectively. Prices here starts from RM699.
Another solid state drive in the series is the SanDisk Creator Pro Portable SSD, which is overall a lot more conventional. That being said, storage capacities go up to 4TB, with read speeds going up to 2,000 MB/s to match, with prices starting from RM949.
For those who prefer sheer storage space over portability, there’s the SanDisk Creator Desk Drive. Here, your choices start with 4TB and end with 8TB, with read speeds topping out at 1,000 MB/s. But a much higher starting capacity also means a much higher starting price of RM2,879.
Moving on from SSDs to flash drives, we have the SanDisk Creator Phone Drive, which offers both USB-C and Lightning connectivity. The two connector choices are matched by the two storage capacities, which are 128GB and 256GB, with the former costing RM449.
Dropping the Lightning Connector tax is the SanDisk Creator USB-C Flash Drive, which gets more storage capacity choices as well ranging from 256GB to 1TB. Read speeds here go up to 400 MB/s, with prices starting from RM149.
Finally, we close out the series with the SanDisk Creator microSD Card and the SDXC UHS-II Card. Both range in capacities from 128GB to 1TB, with the smaller of the two featuring read and write speeds of 190 MB/s and 130 MB/s respectively. The larger card, on the other hand, boasts the respective speeds of 280 MB/s and 150 MB/s. For their prices, the microSD card starts from RM129, while the larger card starts from RM339.
