Nissan has finally revealed the third generation Leaf after unveiling the car back in March 2025 and giving yet another sneak peak of it through a three-part short video earlier this month. After seeing parts of the EV here and there, let us see what the car has to really offer.
Starting with the design, the all-new Nissan Leaf features a sleek fastback-inspired silhouette that enhances both aerodynamics and visual appeal. At the front, a bold V-motion fascia is framed by distinctive daytime running lights, with select variants offering a full-width lightbar above an illuminated Nissan logo.
At the rear, a black tailgate panel houses unique 3D holographic taillight clusters arranged in a “ni-san” pattern—two vertical and three horizontal elements. The look is completed with striking 19-inch alloy wheels that add to its dynamic presence.
The interior of the Leaf offers a spacious cabin with a flat floor, which, according to the automaker is made possible by the CMF-EV platform. Additionally, there is a floating horizontal instrument panel and a monolith-style display which is available in either dual 12.3-inch or 14.3-inch screens. Furthermore, the interior comes with the new Nissan-first dimming panoramic roof with Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) technology that allows people to adjust light and heat with the press of a button.
Now coming to the powertrain of the car, which features the all-new LEAF features a compact 3-in-1 EV powertrain — integrating the motor, inverter, and reducer — that is 10% smaller than before. The EV is offered in two variants in which the base model produces 130 kW and 345 Nm of torque, with higher-end variants pushing out 160 kW and 355 Nm. That’s a jump of 50 kW and 35 Nm over its predecessor.
These correspond to two battery options; 52kWh and 72kWh. The first option offers a WLTP range of 436 km while the latter produces a WLTP range of 604km. With a 150kw DC charger, it can replenish from 10% to 80% in 35 minutes.

The Nissan LEAF comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance features, including a 3D Intelligent Around View Monitor, Invisible Hood View, and Front Wide View. Additionally, the Intelligent Route Planner provides real-time route data, monitors the vehicle’s state of charge, and suggests convenient charging station locations along the way.
The all-new LEAF will be produced at Nissan’s Tochigi Plant in Japan and Sunderland Plant in the U.K. It will arrive in U.S. dealerships this autumn, with other regional launches to follow. Pricing and additional market-specific details will be announced closer to launch.
