Current US President Donald Trump is probably the last person you’d expect to be launching a phone or telco service. But that’s exactly what his family has done, via the Trump Organisation. The telco is known simply as Trump Mobile, with its “The 47 Plan”, and the device is the T1 Phone.
Dealing with the phone first, the mess of the spec sheet says that it has a 6.78-inch punch-hole AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and AI face unlock and an under-display fingerprint sensor. No chipset was specified under the section that reads “Processor and RAM”, but instead the section lists 12GB of “Storage”. Similarly, under “Memory” is 256GB of internal storage, expandable via card slot, presumably of the microSD variety. Powering the thing is a 5,000 mAh battery with 20W charging.

For cameras, the Trump Mobile T1 Phone has a 50MP main + 2MP depth sensor + 2MP macro combo, and a 16MP secondary shooter. And despite the device looking like a gold-plated iPhone Pro entry, it is claimed to run Android 15 instead. It also sports a 3.5mm audio jack, probably the only plus point to the whole thing, as even the USB-C port is limited to USB 2.0 speeds.
The asking price for this dubious device? US$499 (~RM2,116), with an availability window of August. Or September according to Trump Mobile telco plan’s page, which itself is a grand display of self-absorbtion. As mentioned, it’s called “The 47 Plan” because he is currently the 47th President of the US. And it costs US$47.45 (~RM201), because he was also the 45th President.

Beyond the usual unlimited data, texts and calls, including to 100 international destinations, there’s a list of other dubious benefits like “Unlimited 24/7/365 telehealth via video or phone”. Oh, there’s also the claim that the phone is “proudly designed and built in the United States”.
And rounding it all out, there’s the disclaimer at the bottom of the Trump Mobile website. The only part you need to read is “its products and services are not designed, developed , manufactured distributed or sold by The Trump Organisation or any of their respective affiliates or principals”. Which is its own list of implications.
