The GTi badge has been electrified with the introduction of the Peugeot E-208 GTi. The hatchback was revealed at the Le Mans 24 Hours race weekend in France.

The GTi is known for its aggressive stance, and the E-208 carries it on thanks to a body lowered by 30 mm and tracks widened by 56 mm at the front and 27 mm at the rear. Furthermore, paying tribute to the 205 GTi from the 1980s, the hatchback features a large blacked-out grille and sharp, angular headlights.

The exterior also features three luminous claws at the front and rear of the car. Other features also include a front lip, sizeable spoiler, and diffuser. Completing the look are the 18-inch wheels with a multi-hole design wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres and the iconic red hue.

Inside, the red hue continues on the carpets, floor mats, and seat belts. The specially designed front seats, featuring integrated headrests, blend sportiness with elegance. Their design pays homage to the 205 GTi 1.9, with a bold red central trim running through the seat and backrest. On the right side, red mesh detailing echoes the distinctive pattern found in the 205 GTi 1.6.

Adding to the immersive driving experience, the compact steering wheel combines perforated red leather with Alcantara, while the central emblem turns red to complete the look. The interior also comes with a digital instrument cluster and central screen.

Built on the Stellantis e-CMP platform, the Peugeot E-208 GTi comes with a single M4+ electric motor that drives the front wheels. It has an output of 280 hp and 345 Nm of torque, allowing the hot hatch to complete the century sprint in 5.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 km/h.

Additionally, the hatchback is equipped with large 355 mm front brake discs paired with fixed four-piston callipers. According to the automaker, this setup is specifically engineered to enhance cooling efficiency and deliver consistent, high-performance braking in all driving conditions.

Powering the vehicle is a 54 kWh CATL battery pack which has a WLTP range of 350 km. The battery can be replenished from 20% to 80% in less than 30 minutes using a 100 kW DC charger. Meanwhile, a 7.4 kW wallbox charger takes 4 hours and 40 minutes for a full charge. The E-208 GTi offers the vehicle-to-load (V2L) function, which allows an electrical device to be powered via the car’s high-voltage battery.

As for the price of the car, it seems the automaker is being tight-lipped. However, Peugeot stated the car comes with Peugeot Care, which consists of an 8-year/160,000 km vehicle and battery warranty.
