Back in 2023, Bose introduced the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds as part of its QuietComfort range of audio products. Now, the company has announced an upgraded version with improvements in terms of noise cancellation and voice pickup.
Like the previous model, the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) feature Immersive Audio, which is Bose’s spatial audio technology. As with their predecessor, the buds also continue to support Bluetooth 5.3 with multipoint connectivity, SBC, AAC, and aptX Adaptive codecs.
The upgrades come in the form of an improved AI algorithm, which works to offer smoother transitions between noise cancellation levels, as well as prevent environmental noises from drowning out audio content. In addition to this, Bose has introduced an AI-powered noise suppression system to enhance voice pickup with the earbuds’ eight built-in microphones, ensuring better call quality.
The second generation of the earbuds also come with support for wireless charging, a feature the previous iteration lacked. However, the battery life remains the same, which is advertised as four hours on a single charge with Immersive Audio enabled. With the feature disabled, the battery will last up to six hours. The case provides an additional three charges, with a 20-minute charge reportedly offering up to two hours of playback.

The QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) will be made available for purchase this coming summer for US$299 (~RM1,268) in three colourways, which are Black, White Smoke, and Deep Plum. That said, at the moment it is unclear whether the buds will reach our shores then.
