Late last month, the official Nintendo Southeast Asia Facebook page announced that Malaysia was not included in the first official batch of the Switch 2 release. Since then, we’ve seen its controllers – the Pro controller and both Joy-Cons – appearing in the SIRIM database, without the main unit itself. While it may not be long until it becomes available locally, those who absolutely need the next generation console hybrid as soon as possible can get them via local games retailers, with some caveats.
To start, most of the local retailers are listing their Nintendo Switch 2 as Hong Kong sets, and with a price of RM2,499. Or more specifically, all of the listings are of the Switch 2 plus Mario Kart World bundle, with the aforementioned price. The one exception that we have found to said price is what M4G has posted on its social media page, but considering the “estimated price: RM2,4XX”, there’s nor exactly a lot of wiggle room for price deviations. None seem to have listings for just the device, though that’s not exactly a surprise.

Because these are all imported sets, they naturally don’t come with any official warranty. Instead, it’s up to the retailers to decide on the duration of warranty that it is willing to provide. For instance, Impulse Gaming isn’t offering one, while M4G and Gamers Hideout both are providing a 1-month store warranty. HeavyArm says that it is offering a 12-month warranty for the screen of the Nintendo Switch 2, and three months for the Joy-Con controllers.
Finally, we get to their availability, which isn’t uniform to say the least since these Nintendo Switch 2 bundles are imported from Hong Kong. That being said, Impulse Gaming notes that pre-orders placed will arrive on 19 June, while M4G, Gamers Hideout and HeavyArm lists the handheld console hybrid as available on their online stores.
