Automaker, Xpeng has officially unveiled its G7 EV in China yesterday, which is available in two trims: Max and Ultra. The new vehicle is offered at a starting price of CNY235,800 (~RM138,909), with pre-sales now available in the region.
The G7 SUV features a striking design, with its headlights seamlessly integrated into the air ducts located beneath a full-width daytime running light bar. At the rear, a matching light bar extends across the width of the vehicle, blending smoothly with the distinctive C-shaped brake lights. Additional design highlights include frameless doors with electronic soft-close functionality, flush-mounted door handles, and a choice of 18- or 20-inch wheels.

Inside, the G7 continues its minimalist approach, centered around a single 15.6-inch floating display that serves both driving data and infotainment functions. The cabin is upholstered in premium Nappa leather, with seats that offer ventilation, heating, and massage capabilities for enhanced comfort.
Additional luxury features include dual 50W wireless charging pads in the front, a panoramic sunroof, a high-end 20-speaker 7.1.4 surround sound system, customisable ambient lighting with 256 color options, a digital rearview mirror, an electronically locked, password-protected glovebox, and an 8-inch rear control screen. For rear passengers, the second row adds a cooled wireless charging pad and a foldable table mounted behind the front passenger seat, equipped with magnetic attachment points.

A standout innovation is the “Light Pursuit Panoramic” AR head-up display system (AR-HUD), co-developed with Huawei, which projects key information directly into the driver’s line of sight. The G7 is also the brand’s first model to feature a fully vision-based driver assistance system, powered by proprietary Turing AI chips. The Ultra variant is equipped with three Turing AI chips, delivering a combined 2,200 TOPS (trillions of operations per second) of computing power, according to the automaker.
The AR-HUD system in the G7 offers an expansive 87-inch display field, delivering augmented reality navigation, detailed intersection guidance, and dynamic lane change prompts. It utilizes advanced stabilization, distortion correction, and latency compensation algorithms to ensure accurate and seamless visual output.

Xpeng also introduces its new VLA-OL architecture, inspired by the human brain’s motor cortex and cerebellum. This dual-processing model significantly enhances the vehicle’s autonomous capabilities, enabling more adaptive, real-time learning and decision-making for safer and smarter driving.
Both the Max and Ultra variants of the Xpeng G7 are rear-wheel drive and offer two battery options: 68.5 kWh and 80.8 kWh, with CLTC range that varies according to the wheel size. For the Max, the 18-inch wheels offers 602km of range, while the 20-inch wheels gives 577km. Meanwhile, for the Ultra option, its 18-inch delivers 702km while 20-inch has 677km.

Xpeng has said that the delivery of the car is set to begin in Q3 of this year. However, there were no indication given on global launch.
