Cherokee, the iconic nameplate of the Jeep automaker is making a comeback after disappearing from the line-up in the year 2023. This information was confirmed by the brand in a press release, stating that the sixth generation of the midsize SUV will making its debut later this year.
Jeep has released official images of the new SUV alongside its announcement, and they hint at a bold departure from its predecessor. The new Cherokee features a rugged, squared-off front end, marking a striking contrast to the previous generation’s more generic design. One standout feature is the U-shaped daytime running light signature, which sets it apart from other Jeep SUVs like the Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee, and Compass. Additionally, the large front bumper with pronounced lower apron elements emphasises its off-road readiness.

The automaker stated that the new Cherokee is built from ground up emphasising its contrast to the previous models. Moreover, the SUV will feature a hybrid variant, although it has yet to specify the exact type—whether it’s a mild-hybrid, full-hybrid, or plug-in hybrid setup.
“The all-new Jeep Cherokee headlines our efforts to deliver more product, innovation, choice and standard content to customers than ever before,” said CEO, Bob Broderdorf. “Jeep Cherokee will boast competitive pricing that strikes at the core of the largest vehicle segment and sits perfectly between Jeep Compass and Jeep Grand Cherokee to bolster our winning mainstream lineup.”

As for other information on the specifications and the price of the car is yet to be revealed by the automaker. However, since the Cherokee is bound to debut this year, we can expect more news about it soon.
