Building up to the launch of the Nothing Phone (3), the brand is putting up teaser after teaser of the device, but as it turns out, it’s possible for teasers to be downers as well. Potentially anyway, there are probably some out there who are not fans of what makes phones by the company standout. But the gist of the teaser is that the company is removing its signature visual feature from the Nothing Phone (3).
From the brand’s official account on X, the post reads “we killed the Glyph Interface”, with a clip of said interface flickering, before finally going out for good. But it’s worth noting that the clip only shows the flickering lights on the two top corners and the one at the bottom. The larger, almost circular one in the middle, was not shown at all, but only implied, with the empty space in between the three that are shown.
As mentioned, the Glyph Interface was the signature of the brand, so to see it gone from the brand’s next mainline series, and one touted to be a flagship costing GBP800 (~RM4,569). As before though, Nothing teasers often omit details, so it remains to be seen what the company actually means when it says it’s killing its signature feature.
While this may be sad news for fans of the easily identifiable look, it’s potentially good news for those looking for a phone that’s more discreet than flashy, literally. But with the launch happening in July, there’s a whole month ahead of us before we get any confirmation.
