Two more data centre projects are now in motion in Malaysia. According to a recent report by The Edge Malaysia, Sunway Construction Group Bhd (SunCon) has secured the contracts from an undisclosed US-based technology company, valued at a combined RM1.16 billion.
The projects are set to begin immediately, with both scheduled for completion by February 2027. However, the exact locations of the facilities have not been revealed.

“The projects will further expand the group’s order book for the year and fortify earnings visibility over the next two years,” said SunCon managing director Liew Kok Wing in a separate statement. “We are confident that this positive momentum will continue in the current financial year, underpinned by accelerated progress on data centre projects and a robust outstanding order book, including newly secured projects.”
This latest development adds to the growing number of data centre projects currently underway in the country. These include initiatives from global tech giants such as Amazon and Google.
