The official WhatsApp account on X very recently hinted at the possibility of the app finally being available on iPad. Now, it looks like it’s finally a reality – you can download the app for Apple tablets via the App Store.
Being a version of the app for bigger screens, WhatsApp for iPad supports features that are specific to Apple tablets as well. This includes things like Split view and Slide over for those who really need to multitask while keeping the messaging app within reach. For models running the M series of chipsets, these also get access to Stage Manager, letting you keep more windows active at a time.
In keeping with the workaholic-enabling feature list, WhatsApp for iPad also works with any connected Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil. Then there are the other privacy and security related features that are native to the app, and available in just about every other platform.
An official WhatsApp, well, app for iPad has been a long time coming. We’ve seen reports of it being in beta just about every year since back in 2021. Neither company shared the reason why it took this long, now that it’s finally here, the Meta subsidiary says that “we look forward to your feedback”.
