At Computex 2025 earlier today, Synology introduced C2 Surveillance, a cloud-first surveillance platform that doesn’t require device licences and is designed for quick deployment. It gives businesses a way to centrally manage surveillance across multiple locations while cutting down on setup time, hardware dependencies and ongoing technical maintenance.
Synology says C2 Surveillance can be deployed in just a few minutes, even from a mobile device, and does not require specialist training to operate. The system uses the company’s familiar interface, making it easy for administrators to configure AI-powered detection tasks and manage surveillance settings across different sites.
C2 Surveillance supports scalability with a central dashboard for managing all cameras. Integration with Windows Active Directory streamlines identity management, and administrators can assign roles based on team or site. A low bandwidth mode helps reduce data usage by up to 50% without a major drop in video quality.
A notable highlight, C2 Surveillance is built to keep recording even during network outages. It stores footage locally on microSD cards and can back up recordings to the cloud when the connection is restored. The platform also includes an offline failover mode, allowing users to continue monitoring locally without internet access.
Security-wise, measures include AES-128 encryption, multi-factor authentication and detailed permission settings. Synology adds that the service complies with standards like ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, and NDAA, which helps protect sensitive footage and meet enterprise requirements.
While no pricing has been revealed, Synology confirmed that C2 Surveillance will be available later this year. The company adds that the service will also be offered in Malaysia around the same time.
