The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has issued a public warning over a fraudulent advertisement circulating on Facebook, which falsely claims to offer services to recover money lost to scams. The ad misleadingly features the PDRM logo and names the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID), giving the impression of official endorsement.
In a statement released yesterday, Bukit Aman CCID acting director Datuk Seri Hasbullah Ali confirmed that the police had detected the suspicious post. He clarified that the department has no affiliation whatsoever with the advertisement or the services being promoted.

PDRM reiterated that any advertisement offering to recover scammed funds on behalf of the police is not only unauthorised but also part of a scam itself. An official notice from the CCID further emphasised that the use of police insignia and departmental names in these ads is entirely unauthorised. “The services offered are false and an attempt to fraud,” it stated.
The public is urged to remain vigilant and not fall prey to such deceptive offers, especially those that misuse official branding and names. Additionally, PDRM is urging to report any suspicious online activity and to refer only to official channels.
