Sony officially launched the WH-1000XM6 today. The headphones come three years after the launch of the WH-1000XM5 and as you’d expect, it comes loaded with new features and a return to a familiar design.
As previously reported, Sony is reverting to the foldable design with the WH-1000XM6, which also marks an emphasis on portability and compatibility with these headphones. In addition, the carrying case has been simplified to simple magnetic latches to hold the headphones in.
Internally, the WH-1000XM6 uses 30mm Neodymium drivers in each earcup, flanked by Sony’s next generation QN3 HD Noise Cancelling Processor and Adaptive NC Optimiser that performs just as well as the WH-1000XM5, just with better handling for the Sound Pressure Level (SPL).
The headphones also features 12 microphones, up from eight with the WH-1000XM5. For battery life, Sony is claiming the same 30 hours of use with ANC on, and 40 hours with ANC off.
Sony Malaysia is already taking preorders starting today until 8 June for WH-1000XM6 via the official product page. The headphones retail for RM2,099 and are available in three colours: Black, Platinum Silver, and Midnight Blue. The headphones will be available in Mid-June.
As part of the preorder promotion, Sony is also offering a headphone stand worth RM199 and RM50 in TNG Credirt upon product warranty registration in MySony, while stocks last.
