Microsoft officially announced Gears of War: Reloaded. The game is a remaster of the original game and is a celebration of the game’s 20th anniversary in 2026 and will be made available across all platforms and yes, that includes the Sony PlayStation 5 (PS5).

The fact that Gears Of War: Reloaded will be available on Sony’s PS5 is, in a word, unprecedented. At the height of the console wars, the Gears of War franchise was exclusive to the Xbox and PC, but not Sony’s PlayStation console. In line with modern features, Microsoft says that the game has been re-engineered for 4K resolution and will run at 60 fps in the campaign, while multiplayer will run at 120 fps. The game will also support HDR and Dolby Visioin, and that there will be zero loading times during the campaign.
Gears of War: Reloaded will be available from 26 August 2025. The remaster will retail for US$39.99 (~RM169.50), and will be available across all modern Xbox consoles and platforms, PS5, Steam, and Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass.
