To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Doom and the upcoming launch of Doom The Dark Ages, Asus and Bethesda have teamed up to launch a special ROG Astral RTX 5080 GPU, otherwise known as the Doom Edition “BFGPU”. The card is part of a special bundle inspired (obviously) by the game series and more importantly, the colours of the legendary slayers.
You’re probably wondering why we said special bundle. Well, for starters, the BFGPU won’t be sold directly by Asus. The special edition RTX 5080 will instead be sold by Bethesda, as part of the aforementioned bundle that also includes a Black Foil Slayer Sigil T-Shirt; one oversized mouse pad featuring a vainglorious depiction of the Doomslayer during the period; and a yellow keycard replica.
The BFGPU Doom Edition RTX 5080 itself is, as we mentioned earlier as well, based on the currently existing ROG Astral RTX 5080, just with the Doomslayer motif. Basically, it’s painted in the green colour of the Doomslayer’s armour, complete with gold accents. Further, two of the fans bear the design of the Shield Saw, which is one of the main melee weapons that you’ll have access in-game.
In terms of performance, it’s the same as the non-Doom The Dark Ages model. At the time of writing, Bethesda hasn’t indicated a price for the bundle yet.
