WhatsApp is reportedly working on adding a feature that allows users to react to messages and media using stickers. This development was discovered by WABetaInfo in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.13.23 update.

This future update will enable the use of all stickers available to the user in the sticker keyboard, which includes stickers downloaded from the official WhatsApp Sticker Store. Third-party stickers exported from external apps and previously saved stickers will also be available for use. WABetaInfo noted that animated stickers, including ones designed using the Lottie Framework, will also be supported as reactions.

The introduction of this feature is set to offer broader and more creative ways for users to express themselves in chats. Currently, the app allows users to react to messages using emojis, but as these reactions are limited to the default set of emojis, they might not be enough to convey a specific emotion, tone, or intent. Users with a certain sense of humour may find the standard laughing emoji too basic to properly convey their how they actually feel. The addition of custom sticker reactions will allow the users to more accurately express these feelings while also introducing a more entertaining aspect to the conversation.

According to WABetaInfo, this feature is currently in development and not yet ready for beta testers. It is also unknown when sticker reactions will be made available for the public, if it does get implemented.
