Xiaomi has finally announced the arrival of the POCO C71, its newest and extremely affordable budget smartphone. A rebadge of the Redmi A5, it gets the exact same specs and starting price, but oddly enough, its 128GB variant actually costs more than the Redmi version despite it being the same phone.
The C71 sports a 6.88-inch 720p LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 600 nits. Under the hood, it runs on a Unisoc T7250 chipset along with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. For connectivity, it supports 4G, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.2, while for unlocking, it gets a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

On the optics side, it features a 32MP main camera, a depth sensor, and an 8MP selfie shooter. Powering it is a 5,200mAh battery with support for 15W charging. Software-wise, it ships with HyperOS based on Android 15.

The POCO C71 starts from RM299 for the 3GB+64GB configuration while the 4GB+128GB model is priced at RM399, although from now until 9 May, they are being offered at promotional prices of RM269 and RM319 respectively. The entry-level phone can be purchased through Xiaomi’s website as well as its Shopee and Lazada stores.
