While the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series is a pretty important alternative to the company’s foldable lineup, battery capacity has always been a challenge with the series. This may be a design tradeoff, but it looks like the South Korean tech giant has made gradual upgrades in this department. And more of that is to come with the next entry, the Z Flip7.
Dutch site Galaxy Club reports that when the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 comes around, it will have a rated battery capacity of 4,300 mAh, over the 4,000 mAh of the current Z Flip6. Making things more interesting is that rather than have a single pack providing the whole charge, it instead has two batteries providing juice to the clamshell foldable.
Going into the specifics, the battery setup of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 consists of a larger one designated EB-BF767ABY, with a capacity of 2985 mAh. Then there’s the smaller EB-BF766ABY cell that gives 1,189 mAh instead. While this only comes up to 4,174 mAh, the report notes that it would be rounded up to a “typical” 4,300 mAh rating, citing the difference between the rated and typical battery capacity of the Galaxy Z Flip6, which are 3,887 mAh and 4,000 mAh respectively.
Beyond that, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, it doesn’t look like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 is getting any further upgrades on the hardware side of things. We’ll find out for sure when the company unveils it later in the year, during the likely Unpacked event of July.
